Valentine's Day

We typically keep Valentine's day low-key and this year was no different, but fun all the same.  Craig leaves for work as am I getting out of bed and on Valentine's Day Maggie and I walked downstairs to find:

Craig got us flowers, a gift, a donut for Maggie, and a donut and coffee for me.  Not a bad way to start off the morning!

Here are my two love bugs - it is really hard to get a picture of the two of them!!

Here's a little video of Maggie opening the gift:

Maggie is old enough now to hand out Valentine's at daycare.  We made little "Minions" (from the Despicable Me movie) out of Twinkies:

After work we had Grandma and Grandpa Newcomb over for our traditional heart shaped pizza and a skillet cookie.

Little Miss Callum

One Friday evening in January I stopped at home after work, picked up Craig, then we headed to daycare to pick up the kids.  We were planning to drive straight to grandma and grandpa's for pizza.  Well we walked into daycare and all the kids were laughing as our daycare lady brought Callum out to us.  He looked like a sweet little girl! Turns out he went through all of his back-up clothes due to a few really messy diapers, so the daycare lady had to find clothes in her stash - all of which were pink.

Here's what my little boy looked like when I dropped him off:

And here is what he looked like when I picked him up.  I think the daycare lady chose the frilliest outfit she could find:

FLORIDA 2014

It's been a long cold winter here in Minnesota, so our little family decided to head south for a little break from the snow.  We spent one week at Papa & Nonnie's condo in Longboat Key, FL.  We met Grandpa and Grandma Newcomb at the airport and off we went to enjoy the sun and sand!

Here's what we were leaving behind:

It was just what we needed - the weather was warm and sunny, and we ate a lot of grouper and key lime pie.

Now for the pictures!

Fun on the beach on a cooler day (Lido Beach):

TO THE BEACH...

Maggie meeting the ocean (this year she liked it!):

Callum loved it too:

A few family pictures:

Callum decided it was time to start scooting around in Florida:

We went to Jungle Gardens in Sarasota and fed some flamingos:

POOL TIME!!

Callum had the best spot by the pool - in a baby swing.  Can't beat outdoor naptime!

Maggie and daddy working on their tricks...

Maggie loved the pool so much she even declared "I'm a goldfish!".

Swimming all day led to Maggie sleeping through an entire dinner! I would have never guessed in a million years this would be possible:

These two were best buds during the trip - grandpa had the magic touch when it came to getting Callum to fall asleep for naps and bed time.

We had a great trip!

Thanks, Nonnie and Papa for letting us stay at your condo!
